Group members met in Karl's home to watch Before Stonewall, and the first portion of After Stonewall in order to supplement their research and understanding of the LGBTQ movement in America. These two documentaries offer a history of the gay and lesbian movement in the US through historical footage and interviews with those who lived through it.

Update on Pride Center (G5)
Stephen Ha finally returned Mary's messages, only to tell us that he would not be able to work with us after all. This, after 3 weeks of giving us the runaround, cancelling scheduled appointments, and refusing to return many texts and phone calls. We are baffled and dismayed by this behavior.
Group members are again making contacts with other community organizations with which to work.

Group Meeting 4
The group met on 10/7, and discussed our plans to meet with Steven Ha the following day. We also discussed the possibility that if we continued having difficulty meeting with him, we would consider other possibilities.

On 9/30 the group met to discuss the status of our project. Mary has made an appointment with Steven Ha at the Utah Pride Center for this Friday (which is, unfortunately, a night when the rest of the group cannot make the meeting, but is the only night in the next week when Steven can schedule us). Mary asked the other group members to provide pertinent questions for the meeting, which we compiled and emailed to her.

On September 23rd, our group met and discussed the following:
- Mary reported that she had not heard back from our contact, Steven, at Pride and agreed to call him again and let him know we are on board to work with him and begin the process.
- As a group, we discussed the idea of doing the Social Movement paper on the LGBT population. Mary and Jessica had decided to choose this as a topic. We agreed that utilizing some of the articles/research being done for this assignment could correlate with our Social Change Project.
- We discussed resources, including the movies Before Stonewall, and After Stonewall, that could be helpful for us.

Group Meeting 1 (Sept 9)
On Sept 9 we met as a group to discuss various contacts we had within the LGBTQIA community. Mary mentioned having a contact with a Kink group that also had polyamory ties that we could maybe work with. Karl spoke about the Pride Center and the LGBTQIA group on campus. I (Kilei) talked about the therapist contact I have who works with teens and adolescents who identify as LGBTQIA or are questioning whether or not they may be LGBTQIA.
We also talked about what types of projects we may like to do for our project however it was determined that it was too soon to effectively have that discussion when we had not finalized an organization to work with yet.
Group assignments were given out to continue communications with our contacts and determine if each contact/organization had the capacity to allow us to meet the requirements for the Social Change Effort Project assignment.
Group members in attendance were: Karl, Mary, Jessica, and Kilei
